iTV player live is the itv version of iplayer – it allows you to watch ITV shows on your internet connected device aka a computer, laptop, smartphone or ipad. You know, anything really! Also internet TVs can hook up and make it super easy to watch online.
ITV player live shows

watch live tv!
There are a lot of live shows on the itv player, these include big sports games and talent contests and game shows. You can also watch “live” TV, which is really just pre-recorded shows. They call it “live” because you can watch it in real time in terms of TV broadcasting on terrestrial television.
Some of the most popular shows are itv player live football matches, these are often show live on Saturadays and Wednesdays. All sports are better watched live however quite often they are only available on paid Sky channels or BBC. Most premier football league matches can be watched live. Some TV shows such as Daybreak, Lorraine and This Morning are shown live, they also have competitions (checkout http://www.itvcompetitions.co.uk) which are announced during the show with huge cash prizes.
Saturday night television is popular in live format. Shows such as Britains Got Talent and the Million Pound Drop are two examples of show which are streamed live on the player.
ITV Player Live Alternatives
Sometimes traffic is high and streaming is slow (I find BBC is worse for this), when this happens I tend to switch to TVcatchup. TVcatchup allows you to watch TV for free via the internet. It is available in various streaming qualities so you can even pick it up using 3G or if your internet speed is slow. There are probably a number of these sites about, however tvcatcup is my favourite. It enables you to watch “live tv” without a TV license because it plays approximately 2 seconds behind time, so I guess it isn’t really “live”!
For itv catchup the main ITV website is best, however I often use my Virgin media box (Tivo) which I’m impressed with in terms of its capacity & what it can do however I hate the interface. It is so slow & clunky – you have to click many many times to find what you are looking for – not good Mr Branson; sort it out & it would be a winner. Also sort out the pause thing!!!
As for talent, well Britains Got Talent is great craic – wash down with a glass of wine & you’re in for a good night, also used to love a bit of Blind Date (when it was good), although Take Me Out isn’t a bad replacement.
BBC iPlayer vs ITV Player Live
No comparison when viewing ont the telly; itv player live wins hands down (but that could just be my crappy tivo!!!). This really depends on your personal choice and what live show you are watching. If it was even Stevens I’d say ITV; I’m just generally impressed how well they do as a UK TV company without any support. They really do kick some BBC ass at times. Sure, the ads can be boring and on Saturday nights especially they need to cut down – I can skip the first 45mins of some live TV shows & still catchup by fast forwarding through the ads!
Live TV Shows
Beyond TV, get yourself out of the house – go to a live football match, see a real player in front of you, go to the gig, bring some mates & get offline for a change. Its all well & goood sitting in front of the box playing with your itv player live but seriously; get your ass off that seat – you’ll appreciate it!
